*Celeste and John are sitting on a park bench*
Celeste: “I’ve realised it will be okay.”
John: “Oh, really?”
Celeste: “Yes.”
John: “That’s not much detail as to why.”
Celeste: “Okay, I’ll expand. I was thinking about source.”
John: “Like ketchup?”
Celeste: “No, I mean the source of things!”
John: “Like God?”
Celeste: “Well, you could look at that way – but it wasn’t really what I was intending.”
John: “Okay, I’m looking at it that way and I don’t quite get it.”
Celeste (laughing): “Consider your name and the book of John. In the beginning was the word and the word was—”
John: “Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος.”
Celeste: “Thanks John, I didn’t realise you spoke German—“
John: “Celeste, how can I take anything you say seriously? That is clearly Greek.”
Celeste (laughing): “This is barely semantics John, and I’ll have none of your sophistry here! To my original point. I wasn’t really going that direction, it was just a side detail, for creative flair.”
John: “On with it then.”
Celeste: “I think the source is open.”
John: “Open? That was your whole point.”
Celeste: “Yes, open source.”
John: “And that has what to do with God?”
Celeste: “Hope.”
John: “I love your optimism, but Celeste, this world is falling.”
Celeste: “You can choose to define it that way John, but I would argue hope is always available to those who are open to it.”
John: “Sure, if that’s what makes you happy. So open source?”
Celeste: “Yep.”
John: “Are you going to expand on that.”
Celeste: “No John, not yet.”
John: “Weird you brought it up then.”
Celeste: “Less weird, rather than wyrd.”
John: “You’re ridiculous Celeste.”
Celeste: “Do you love me, John?”
John: “You know I love you, darling, I love you more than tongue can tell You are the light of my life my sun, moon and stars. You are my everything. Without you I have no reason for being”
Celeste: “Even if I was a worm?”
John: “Yes Celeste, even if you were a worm.”
